EPISODE THREE "One of a Kind" pt.2

"There he is. Sampson. So...gifted. So...majestic!" I peered through the binoculars I was holding. I'd just ordered them yesterday.
"Sam, we've been watching the gorilla scratch his but for... how long?" Tucker yawned.
"Six hours." Danny yawned as well.
"Time flies when you're majestically scratching your but." Didn't they get it?
"It's only a matter of time before you find out something about Sampson nobody's ever learned!" Sampson ate something he pulled out of his fur. "You should try to go communicate with him!" I put down the binoculars and turned around. Danny was fast asleep on the ground. "Great. Tucker, you're his manager, could you-" Tucker was also asleep. He yawned and hugged Danny like a teddy bear. They were both cuddling. "I'll do it. But first..." I pulled out my camera and snapped a photo. I was supposed to be taking gorilla pictures, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity. "Boys hugging makes every yearbook funny."

I went down the stairs of the observation post and walked over to Sampson's dome. He ran over to the left side of the cage and started freaking out. "What is it, you wondrous being?" He ran over to me and started pointing to the left. "Is...something wrong?" He started pulling on the door. "You want out?" I knew it. How could any animal like being in a cage? I sure wouldn't. I ran over and hit the giant green button that said 'open'. You'd think they'd lock the controls up. The gorilla immediately ran off to the left. I heard a scuffle... what the heck? I saw something fly toward the observation post and crash through the window. I ran up the steps and saw a...robot? Ghost? Something in between. The boys were still asleep. "Ohmygosh!" The...thing... fired something at me and I screamed. It covered my mouth and I couldn't get it off.
"Now, for the ghost-child!" No! Danny! I was so helpless... I...
BAM! A flying gorilla slammed the ghost into the wall, then down onto a desk. He started to bring down his fists, but the ghost caught its arms and threw him across the room. Sampson jumped at the ghost again, but the ghost phased through the wall. He started banging on the wall and grunting, which woke up the boys. They were still hugging and were screaming in alarm. They realized they were hugging and screamed again, pushing each other away. They looked around and saw the gorilla... and screamed again.
"Gorilla! LOOSE!" Danny jumped in front of Tucker.
"I got him! I'm goin' ghost!" Danny inverted his hair and jumped toward Sampson. Sampson dodged and ran across the floor. Danny flew and picked him up under the arms, struggling. Danny phased him through the wall and the cage. The green energy disappeared and I hurried down the stairs with Tucker. We caught up with him as he was closing the still-open door.
"Danny? I've meant to tell you, there was a gho-"
"I wonder who let the gorilla go...Sam!" He said sarcastically, then looked at me.
"Yeah! Wait'll we tell everyone at school you let out a 400 pound gorilla!" I raised an eyebrow, and the photo of them hugging.
"Or...we just keep it our little secret." Danny shrugged.
"Yeah! We have no real proof she did it, you know."
"Nah." I smiled with victory.

***********************************************************************************

The next morning was a Saturday, so we decided to head to Danny's house. Danny could really use a shower/change of clothing. When we walked inside, Danny's family was sitting on the couch talking with some woman I'd never seen before. Mrs. Fenton was not impressed. "Danny, look at you! I'm not sure I like this...overnight zoo research." Danny grabbed one of the straps on his backpack.
"Mom, come on! We're just a bunch of kids! In the zoo...at night...alone." There was an awkward silence. I was sorta glad Danny wasn't on our debate team. "We'll be in my room." I followed Danny up the stairs with my textbook. We approached the door labeled 'Danny's Room'.
"Here we go, Danny. Home just in time for some well-deserved rest." Tucker's PDA beeped. He looked at it. "But, keep it quick! Because you've got 13 minutes." I could see the bags under Danny's eyes. He looked so tired, poor thing. His ghost sense went off. He reached for the doorknob and opened the door. At first we didn't see anything, but the same ghost as before became visible.
"Hello, ghost-child." He lifted his metallic arm and launched a net that entangled Danny. The net was dragged in the bedroom door and the door shut.
"DANNY!" Well, for once it wasn't me who was the target, but I felt so helpless all the time. I couldn't even help him pass a biology test.

I heard whacking and slamming coming from behind the door. Tucker and I both pulled on the doorknob. "That's the ghost from the zoo!" Tucker looked at me in confusion.
"Danny?" YOU FOOL! The kid's smart...sometimes.
"No! The other guy!" We couldn't budge the doorknob at all. Something hit the door really hard. We could see the wood flex. It must be a ghost-power to be able to take such a severe beating. Danny had been thrown into fifty walls in the last few months, either by ghosts or Dash Baxter.
"Hello? What's going on up there?" OH CRAP! If Jazz could hear the fighting then the entire house probably could. Me and Tucker looked at each other before going down the stairs. We were halfway down when there was a loud crash.
"GHOST! GHOST! GHOOOOOOOST!" Mr. Fenton was yelling at the top of his lungs.
"Kids! get down! There's a ghost in the house!" Mrs. Fenton was as panicked as her husband. We got to the bottom of the stairs and Tucker opened his big trap.
"Actually there's two-" I elbowed him really hard. "-MUCH homework to be done for there to be a ghost here!" What? That didn't even make any sense. "I'll get some snacks." He pointed to the kitchen  and walked toward it. I smiled extremely innocently.
"Y-yeah. Danny's upstairs-" The entire house shook with a bang. "-Uh, lifting...weights?" Mrs. Fenton looked up at the ceiling.
"He doesn't have exercise equipment up there!" The house shook again and we all flinched.
"MY COMPUTER! Oh, that's Jazz's." I put up my hands with a shrug.
"That's why...he's using his computer!" There was a large crash in the kitchen. Everyone in the living room ran into the kitchen to see what was the matter. I was up in front. The table was broken in two, as if someone had landed on it. Tucker looked at it. "Uh..." He struck a Kung-Fu pose. "Hai-YAH!" The  woman I'd never seen before today spoke in a british accent. "What's going on?" I wish I knew. Well, I sorta did, but I was severely confused. You never knew what insane story you'd have to make up next.

Another loud crash. "SOUNDs like rats in the lab!" Mr. Fenton held up a vengeful fist.
"Ghost rats! I knew it!" Me and Tucker ran down toward the basement.
"Don't worry, we'll get rid of 'em!" We raced down the basement stairs. When we got there, the ghost had Danny by the throat, and the ghost portal was open.
"Time to put you in your cage." The metallic monster carried Danny toward it, still clutching his throat.
"NOOOOOOOOOOO!" Danny kicked and squirmed, but he couldn't seem to get free. Right as they were reaching the entrance, I slid heroically in their path. He'd done it for me before, so I guess I had to repay the favour. I also hated when things were in cages.
"No is right, Danny. Cages are wrong. How do you think Sampson feels being in a cage?" I yelled angrily. The two ghosts in front of me looked confused.
"But-"
"He's a beautiful animal, and deserves to roam free!"
"I-"
"Should be ashamed!" The ghost didn't look very impressed. Danny seized the opportunity and kicked the ghost across the room. The hulk almost landed on Tucker, luckily Tuck was running and yelling.
